Dramatic multi-stemmed herbaceous perennial coming from a deep-rooted rhizome. The large lime-green flowers with purple lobes are produced in the leaf axils from the end of May. Established plants have reached nearly 2 metres. They seem happy in both full sun and part-shade. Found across the Himalayas at high altitude, often in forest clearings and associated with human habitation. Ht 2 m
