Galanthus nivalis ‘Aldo Nefat’

A graceful late virescent form of Galanthus nivalis, Galanthus nivalis ‘Aldo Nefat’ was selected at Decora Nursery in Croatia and named in honour of a friend of the family. A particularly elegant snowdrop, it combines the familiar delicacy of G. nivalis with attractive green suffusion throughout the flower, giving the blooms a fresh, quietly distinctive appearance rather than the heavier markings of some modern virescent selections. It has become a sought-after addition to specialist collections, and is now recognised among the more unusual green forms of G. nivalis. 

Cultivation: Best grown in humus-rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil in light deciduous shade or partial shade. Allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering. Hardy throughout the UK.
